Leah Houston

Hello! I am Leah Houston. I am a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I am originally from the quad cities in IL. I received my Bachelors Degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education from Macmurray College in Jacksonville, IL in 1995. I worked as an itinerant teacher for many years and started teaching in Monroe in 2002. I received my Reading License from Viterbo University in 2007 and I graduated with my Master's Degree in Reading from Viterbo University in 2011. I currently work as a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing but also team teach in regular education classrooms and provide extra reading instruction for struggling readers.



Donna Cairy

Hello! I am Donna Cairy. I am originally from the Chicago suburbs. I received my Bachelors Degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL in 2000.  I began working as a Teacher in the Monroe Schools in August of 2000. I completed my Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin Platteville in 2008. I am also certified to teach Cross-Categorical Special Education. I currently work as a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing but also team teach in regular education classrooms, teach special education resource and teach American Sign Language as a World Language at Monroe Middle and High Schools.
